The real decoration of the autumn garden are the pyramids of tall trees, hung with raspberry-red pears of the variety Naryadnaya Efimova against the background of rich green foliage. Although many varietal parameters are defined as medium, these fruits, which have excellent taste and marketability, were awarded a gold medal in 1989 in Erfurt (Germany) at the International Agricultural Exhibition.

Description of pear variety Naryadnaya Efimova

This variety was created back in 1936 by VSTISP employee V. Efimov

This variety of pears is well known to gardeners in our country. It was created back in 1936 by VSTISP employee V. Efimov. The initial varieties were Lyubimitsa Klappa and Tonkovetka. FSBI "State Sort Commission" zoned the variety in 1974 and recommended it for cultivation in the Middle Volga (Mordovia, Tatarstan, Samara, Ulyanovsk and Penza regions) and Central (Kaluga, Bryansk, Ryazan, Ivanovo, Vladimir, Tula, Moscow, Smolensk regions).

Intensively growing pear trees of this variety are tall with a not very thick crown in the shape of a pyramid and are slightly affected by scab. Their winter hardiness and yield are average. After planting a seedling in the plot, the trees begin to bear fruit in the seventh or eighth year. The productivity of adult pears is stable, from one hectare gardeners receive up to 30-35 tons of fruits or up to 40 kg from a tree. Foliage that has fallen in the autumn, covering the soil under a tree with a dense layer, can be left out, it will provide additional shelter for the roots in winter.

Medium-sized white pear flowers have a strong aroma. They are pollinated by bees. For the formation of ovaries, pears of other varieties blooming in the same period are necessary.

Smooth somewhat elongated fruits of this variety look very beautiful, covered with a yellow-green soft crust with an intense (up to 0.8 pear surface) blush of raspberry red color. Their weight on average reaches 135 grams, and the maximum - up to 185 grams.

The inner flesh of a light cream color is juicy with a pleasant sweet and sour taste. The millimeter layer under the pear skin is pink. 100 grams of the product contains up to 10 grams of sugars and about 13 milligrams of fruit acid.

Pears are removed in early September and laid for ripening for 15-20 days, a maximum of one month, when the fruits reach consumer maturity. Tasting taste assessment - 4 points. Elegant Pear Efimov's pears are not left on the branches until full maturity so that the fruits do not become watery and their flesh does not become viscous.

Pearly Dressed Efimova can easily be transported over considerable distances without losing its consumer qualities, since they are removed from the tree without ripening.

Pear planting

After choosing a place on the site suitable for growing pears, the planting of the Naryadnaya Efimova tree is performed according to the scheme common to all fruit trees:

  1. Preparing the landing pit.

    Landing pit preparation

  2. Installation of a support peg, filling the pit with soil mixed with fertilizers, watering it to shrink the soil.

    The soil should settle well

  3. Uniform placement of the root system of the seedling on the soil mound in the planting hole so that the root neck rises above the general soil level.

    The root neck should remain above ground level

  4. Backfill and compacting the soil.

    Soil compaction near the tree trunk

  5. Watering a seedling.

    The planted tree is watered with two or three buckets of water

  6. Mulching the trunk circle with peat, wood shavings, mowed grass or other organic materials.

    After absorbing water, the soil near the trunk is covered with humus, mowed grass, wood shavings

The approximate amount of organic and mineral fertilizers laid in the planting pit is shown in the table below:

Take care of the pear

The variety does not require any special care other than that used for other fruit trees. He does not need shelter from the winter cold. Dressed Efimova, planted in a sunny area, where there are no nearby groundwater, will please the gardener with a good harvest, provided:

  • annual feeding;
  • watering in the amount of two or three buckets weekly (in drought, water more often);
  • removal of dried branches and shoots, thinning the crown.

Pear Dressy Efimova has a stable high immunity to fungal and bacterial diseases inherent in this type of plant. And also for the entire period of cultivation of this variety, not a single case of damage to the fruit or leaves of the tree by pests was recorded. Therefore, preventive treatment of the tree is not necessary. Pear is sprayed with any drugs only if pests or diseases are found on other garden trees.

Gardeners reviews about the variety

Natka, my Elegant Efimova grows and bears fruit every year. I can say from experience that picking green fruits from a branch is not worth it (at least for this variety), because they are dry and completely tasteless. But when they turn yellow and are filled with juice, and this usually happens in mid-August and at the same time for all fruits, then they themselves begin to fall rapidly. This is probably the distinguishing feature of this variety. This year, they ripened two weeks earlier than a week and now they are hanging the very last ones, inaccessible to the fruit picker.

Irina. Elegant Efimova is not reliable enough in terms of winter hardiness. Even in Mordovia, I do not offer this sort of seedling to local gardeners. Vaccination in the crown of a winter-hardy variety will go. But the taste qualities of Dressy Efimov are low (by "3+").

Probably the earliest Skorospelka from Michurinsk. Ripens gradually, the first fruits in late July. Juicy, productive, unpretentious. Dressed Efimova - beautiful, fragrant, with Skorospelka well pollinate each other. A lot of new tasty pears have been bred for the Moscow Region.

Despite the appearance of new varieties of pears, bred by modern breeders, Naryadnaya Efimova pear is happy to grow many gardeners, since planting this tree and growing it are not difficult and do not cause unnecessary trouble.
